Episode Summary
Newly minted genin Naruto gets his first shadow: Konohamaru, the Third Hokage's grandson, who wants to learn the scandalous Sexy Jutsu and, more urgently, to be seen as something other than 'honorable grandson.' Between failed ambushes and a lecture from the elitist tutor Ebisu, Naruto gives the kid the only wisdom he owns — there are no shortcuts to a name; you earn it. The episode quietly states the series' thesis a second time, then seals it with a Harem Jutsu that fells a jonin.
