Episode Summary
Creeping shadow opens the Kakashi ANBU filler arc, descending into the dark years of the copy-ninja's masked service. The episode begins an anime-original chapter set in Kakashi's past — his time in the ANBU, the shadow-work between Rin's death and the teacher we know, the Iburi clan and Orochimaru's manhunt. Sealed inside its filler frame, it fills a gap the manga left. Competent and atmospheric, the shadow years are engaging in their bubble and outside the canon timeline, a character-deepening diversion.
