Episode Summary
The pupil of the serpent turns the series back to Sasuke, deep in Orochimaru's lair and nearing a reckoning with the master who took him. The episode reintroduces Sasuke's thread after the filler — his power grown monstrous, his patience with Orochimaru thinning, the Sannin's plan to take his body as a vessel approaching its deadline. The pupil is about to turn on the serpent. It's the canon engine re-engaging, setting up Sasuke's betrayal of Orochimaru and the formation of the team that will hunt Itachi.
