The End

The Uchiha duel ends not with a jutsu but with two fingers to the forehead. Itachi, coughing blood, claims his brother's eyes — then takes the cursed seal instead, sealing Orochimaru away with the Totsuka Blade before his legs give out. 'Forgive me, Sasuke. There won't be a next time.' He dies smiling against the wall of a ruined fortress, undefeated and deliberately defeated, while the rain starts to fall. Zetsu records a victory; the audience, knowing nothing yet of the truth, records a tragedy it cannot name.
