Episode Summary
The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant closes its final chapter. Six Paths of Pain against one Sannin with a crushed throat and a memory for faces — and in his last minutes Jiraiya places it: the Deva Path wears the face of Yahiko, the student he taught to dream. Spine broken, arm gone, sinking into the lake of the village he tried to save, Jiraiya forces one last message onto Fukasaku's back in toad-script cipher, names his death 'gallant,' and smiles at the thought that his true masterpiece — Naruto — is still being written.
