Yakumo's sealed power anchors the arc: a gifted girl whose dangerous kekkei genkai Kurenai once sealed away, and the resentment and tragedy that choice planted. The episode develops the arc's emotional knot — a teacher's protective betrayal, a student's buried potential — with more sincerity than most of the valley manages.
